COAST TO COAST. walking across Michigan. from tawas city to Manistee.

IN SEVEN DAYS, I WALKED FROM LAKE HURON TO LAKE MICHIGAN.

Shining a positive light on the Autistic community was a mission I was ready to take action on, for myself and others like me. On Valentine’s Day of this year, I was clinically diagnosed with Autism. After a seven hour assessment, I received clarity on obstacles I’ve faced my entire life. As a show of personal strength and a desire to grow through my diagnosis, on April 27, 2024 I began the longest journey of my life. Moving East to West along M55, walking continuously day by day, I sought to walk from one Great Lake to another, Lake Huron to Lake Michigan. Beginning in Tawas City, Michigan I began walking 20+ miles per day. Seven days later, I reached my destination of Lake Michigan in Manistee on May 4th. One step at a time, 160 miles in seven days.

“No man is brave that has never walked a hundred miles. If you want to know the truth of who you are, walk until not a person knows your name. Travel is the great leveler, the great teacher, bitter as medicine, crueler than mirror-glass. A long stretch of road will teach you more about yourself than a hundred years of quiet.”
